Reason or season

He came into my life just before the first lockdown commenced. It seemed like a true fairytale, one that I had always dreamt of. It got tough due to the distance but we continued to persevere. Fast forward to now, he walked away and posted my home keys a few weeks before the restrictions started to ease. My love must have only been for entertainment purposes; either for a reason or a season. Obviously not a lifetime.
