You were different from any guy I’ve dated, opening my eyes to what else is out there. I would like to blame the long break I’ve had from dating, but I know I ignored some red flags only because we were having so much fun together. But twice I felt a full-bodied “no” and told you as much. The first time we stopped dating abruptly for a few months. You won me over again. The second time you thought we should have an open conversation, telling me this is the first authentic relationship you’ve had. I’m glad we did. You said that in the end you didn’t know what you wanted, which is as good as telling me that it’s a “no” from you too.
